Delhi Mahila Samman Yojana: Assistance of ₹1000 every month, application process, eligibility and document details
The Delhi government has launched the Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana for the economic empowerment of women. Under this scheme, women will be given financial assistance of ₹1000 every month. The scheme was included in the budget for 2024-25 and a provision of ₹2,000 crore has been made for it.
Key features of the scheme
- Financial assistance: Women living in Delhi will be given assistance of ₹1000 per month.
- Budget provision: An amount of ₹2,000 crore has been allocated in the budget for 2024-25.
- Future plans: There is a plan to increase this assistance amount to ₹2100 per month after the assembly elections.
Who can avail the scheme?
The following eligibility criteria have been set under this scheme:
- Resident of Delhi: Women who are residing in Delhi as on 12 December 2024.
- Voter registration: Must be a registered voter in Delhi.
- Age limit: Applicant must be at least 18 years of age.
- Income limit: Annual family income should not exceed ₹3 lakh.
Categories excluded from the scheme
Government employees (present and former).
Elected representatives such as MPs, MLAs, councillors.
Recently paid tax individuals.
Women who are already availing benefits of any other pension scheme of the Delhi government.
Required documents
The following documents are mandatory for applying to the scheme:
- Identity proof: Aadhaar card, voter ID, or PAN card.
- Address proof: Electricity bill, water bill, or ration card.
- Age proof: Birth certificate, school leaving certificate, or passport.
- Income Certificate: Valid Income Certificate.
- Bank Details: Bank account number and IFSC code.
- Self-Declaration Form: Document confirming eligibility.

Disbursement of First Installment
Chief Minister Atishi has announced that the first two installments of ₹1000 under the scheme will be released to eligible women by the end of the current financial year.
